I can’t wait to leave this town.

Earlier this week my mom told me I should go to Africa to teach English. That isn’t my major. My sister let it slip that my plans are to teach in NOLA until I get nationally certified, and my mom nearly choked.

I hate the judgement in this town. I hate the suffocating people who surround me, the hypocracy, the ignorance, the inherent sexism, the cigarette smoke and the music. I can’t wait to live outside of louisiana but until then i’ll just smile and deal with it.
